Sun in Aries. Moon in Libra.
The Full Moon in Libra occurs when the Sun is in Aries, the Astrological sign that rules the god of war (Mars), is opposite Libra, who longs for peace at all costs. Together, they seek the middle ground so that fighting and anger bring us closer. I have always said Aries is here to fight for love, to disarm the warrior to find true vulnerability.
I looked up The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
It’s an ancient 13-chapter Chinese treatise focused on winning conflicts through strategy, intelligence, and psychology rather than brute force. “Sun portrays war as a costly, destructive last resort; prolonged warfare erodes the state faster than the enemy ever could.” So true.
Sun said, “The art of war emphasizes achieving victory with minimal loss—by knowing oneself and the enemy.”
Think of what this world would be like if we fought for sustained peace, not more land, money, and oil—but with the wisdom to agree to disagree and the ability to speak to the unspeakable with respect and kindness. The winner: the warrior who didn’t need to fight, because he knew himself and knew his enemy. He stopped before he began.
Rollo May, a psychologist and philosopher, said, “Finding the center of strength within ourselves is, in the long run, the best contribution we can make to our fellow wo/men. One person with indigenous inner strength exercises a great calming effect on panic among people around him/her. This is what our society needs—not new ideas and inventions, important as these are, and not geniuses and supermen—but persons who can be, that is, persons who have a center of strength within themselves.”
This is exactly why we study Astrology: to find our real selves, understand our personalities, and drill down to the core—to your center, where peace waits for you to just BE. This is not an easy goal. For fiery people and sensitives, you need to find a practice—meditating, mindfulness, or yoga—to bring you to center. I just had this experience.
I had a bump with someone I’d hired in the past to take me hiking. I hired him, against my better judgment.
He took us out for a big hike in the mountains. I was so excited. We drove up to the entrance, and I realized it was not the hike I had in mind at all. Years ago, he and I did this same hike, and while I loved the camping site it led us to, it was an awful hike. This time, he wanted to just go down and come right back up. The last time, it took three days. Today, the plan was to go two hours down and then two more hours straight back up.
“No,” I said. This was not where I wanted to go. He insisted. We went. My Libra rising, the pleaser, didn’t want to argue.
I realized my ankles would not have enjoyed this hike, so I sat down. I said, “I will meet you when you guys return.” And I sat in meditation – a practice I have increasingly been doing for the last few years: listening to my body, sitting, and just being.
While I love this, this was not my intention, nor did I pay him for a meditation class. When he returned, I was so happy and settled in my being.
Until I saw him. I remembered all at once how he had bullied us and did not give us a choice of where to go. When I began to tell him, he talked over me. He used all kinds of New Age logic to shut me down: “Debra, you are not your thoughts.” This hit a nerve.
I didn’t know how to get him to listen, so I struck him with my words. I was angry. I literally swore at him (I don’t want to repeat that here). It stopped him in his tracks. “See what I had to do to get your attention. I had to get so mad.”
We finished the drive back with some quiet reflection. The energy shifted. I did not feel bad. I had to know that I trusted my anger and that he would receive it and process it as he saw fit.
This story is so Aries/Libra—my Aries cannot allow someone to EVER take away my free will, not listen, and impose his agenda on me and my friends. I had to say something. This is the Fire energy that must be externalized.
I know myself enough to know I can manage that energy. I live with it. My Moon is in Aries, and my rising is Libra. I love that these two energies understand the art of war.
“The art of war emphasizes achieving victory with minimal loss—by knowing oneself and the enemy.”
We will remain friends. I will not hire him again without a deep conversation and agreement to listen. I felt sad I had to strike so hard, and he was humbled when he realized (I hope) his style did not make us closer.
This is what Rollo May was pointing to: my ability to stay still, to be, met my integrity—the part of me that demanded I stop the energy. Together, they allowed closure and truth to live in the midst of discomfort, without hurting anyone, while I stayed true to my truth.
What would you have done? Do we have the skills to argue, to stand up for ourselves, to listen to the other who does not hear us without destroying the friendship?
I wish there were classes on how to speak to the unspeakable, to hold your truth, to not swallow what you know is true, and to listen to the other. This one single class would change the whole world. Never more needed than now.

Thanks for sharing. In these lessons we find ourselves. In the past 12 months l have been in an energy of two women pulling me down or blocking me spiritually energy. Enough l say, l stand quietly gifting myself the knowledge that what is for me will come and l stand quietly ground in my own energy.
Those classes are called Non-Violent Communication, as first developed by Marshall Rosenberg in the ’60s and ’70s.
There is also a wonderful series of “empathy games” called Grok. They use cards to help people communicate Feelings and Needs in a responsible, safe way.
As someone who is in a deep connection with a man who has the same three placements as Debra, Gemini Sun, Aries Moon and Libra Rising, I know that you’ve really come a long way in your journey to stand up to that hiking guide the way you did for yourself. I’m Aries Sun, Cancer Rising with a Taurus Moon, who would want to tell him not to do that to you as he began walking away, no matter his feelings. I’d say it loud and clear with an urge to fight hard. I’ll have to read the Art of War. because I think it is exactly what we all need right now. I feel the urge to focus energy on all that I want to grow, the New Renaissance, the good in the world, the power we hold and the love that is all around us. The more we can connect consciously the more we can create, right?!
This sounds like me in a nutshell. I’d like to know what the signs are of the guy you hired
Thank you for your insights. This is souch perfect timing for me to read this. Thank you for the reminder of the importance of staying true to ourselves. We can speak our truth with a roar if necessary yet not let it take away our peace or define us. Im a lover not a fighter until I am forced to protect who or what is important . I happen to be in that position as I am writing this so again thank you. I will also look up that book. I appreciate you and your contributions to the people you reach.
Much love,

I love this! If you run across that class please let us all know!
Thank you.
Thanks to astrology and yoga, I came to realize I have an enormous amount of fire, strength, and warrior energy, but haven’t been utilizing it appropriately. At 57, I finally understand how to communicate my needs, my beliefs, and my boundaries in a respectful way that doesn’t turn people off. I am respected in return. I let my intuition guide me!
I have an Aries moon, opposing Libra Uranus.
Sometimes it’s the only way to make a difference being bold enough to move through the process of not being stepped on. Harmony to remain friends even though disagreements.
There are courses and classes on non-violent communication actually, where they teach how to express your needs without aggression, blame or judgement . The method was created by Marshall Rosenberg, who was a psychologist and was a Libra born on the 6th of October 1934. “The concept of NVC was developed by Marshall Rosenberg. Growing up in Detroit, Rosenberg witnessed violence frequently, and became curious about its causes and how violence could be reduced. He created the Center of Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) in 1984, using his work during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, and developed training methodologies for NVC while mediating riots between students and colleges over segregation. ” – cultureally.com
These are the 4 steps I copied from cultureally.com
“1. Observations
By observing rather than focusing on judging or evaluating, we create a safe space for the speaker to share their experiences without fear of criticism or judgment.
For example…
🚫 You might say: “You’re always late for work! Something has to change.”
👌 Instead, try: “I noticed that you’ve been 30 minutes late the past few days. Is there anything we can do to help fix that?”
Here, rather than focusing on blame we shift the responsibility to solving the problem (an employee’s lateness) together, without critiquing. It also indicates that we are coming from a place of understanding, which helps prevent defensive reactions and helps us work towards solving the problem.
2. Feelings
Through acknowledgement of our feelings, we can communicate more authentically and connect with others on a deeper level.
For example…
🚫 You might say: “You’re always late and it’s so frustrating for everyone.”
👌 Instead, try: “When someone is late, I tend to get anxious and stressed that we may not be able to complete our tasks on time.”
With this example, we are focusing on our feelings rather than assuming the feelings of others. By centering ourselves in this respect, we are able to more accurately and effectively communicate.
3. Needs
When we are able to clearly identify and clarify our needs, we can verbalize them to others to create mutually beneficial solutions.
For example…
🚫 You might say: “You’re late and it’s causing problems for everyone. It’s disrespectful.”
👌 Instead, try: “I noticed you’ve been late quite a bit lately. Can we outline some clear expectations and shift our timelines so they are more realistic and so you can work more comfortably and effectively?”
By outlining our needs and expectations, we can make more reasonable and actionable solutions for fixing problems. Remember, the goal of communicating needs with our coworkers is to give space for them to offer potential solutions as well, and come up with a game plan together.
4. Requests
Asking for what we want and need means inviting the other party to take action to help meet our expectations.
For example…
🚫 You might say: “Next time you can’t be late, it messes up my timelines.”
👌 Instead, try: “Can you let me know in advance when you’re running late next time, so I can plan ahead accordingly?”
By asking for what we need, we create a scenario where we are kindly asking for change with the other person’s assistance. This way, instead of focusing on blame or expressing frustration directly, we are leveraging our emotions to find a solution that will ultimately assist both parties. “
Goodness, I may have done the same. My sun is in Aries and Moon in Libra so this full moon means a lot to me. Also, I have Gemini rising. I feel it has big energies and I am absorbing what is happening and have been very emotional of late.
I agree 100% I would have done the same. My sun is virgo, moon is Aquarius and my ascendant is Leo. Not sure where my fiery side comes in but I am definitely firey when needed. I was a doormat for decades until 9 years ago when I really dug into personal development and found myself. Lately I’ve been looking for my inner peace (even though it is already in me) and how I can contribute to the greater good and others, so we can one day have peace on earth. Thank you for writing this! ♥️
Being in customer service over 30yrs, I can’t imagine being treated this way. I take the word no seriously as well whether it’s from me or someone else. There’s a logical reason why someone doesn’t want to do something and that should be respected. I probably wouldn’t have hired him again or had a serious conversation beforehand, but in your case, I would have done the same.
I have a Libra Moon- but also a Leo rising and Leo Sun (let alone Leo Pluto) in the first house of Aries. There’s no way I could’ve have/would’ve sat there waiting for 4 hrs for the group to return from the hike. I would have explained that to him and insisted that he somehow get me a ride back to ‘town’. If that wasn’t possible, I would’ve found someone with a cell phone and found my own ride. I have been working on this waiting stuff for years. I rarely wait. I rarely can. I did get in the habit of always having a book with me (nowadays some books on my iPhone), particularly for waits in doctor’s offices (one even has to wait when doing telehealth!). Meanwhile, my extremely patient husband of 43 years is a great waiter. He hates ‘wasting time’ (like sitting in the parking lot while I’m in a medical/chiropractic appt) so we arrange our day, so he does the shopping while I’m at a medical visit. We have a 2 hr drive EACH way once a week to ‘town’ for organic groceries and any medical needs. I hate shopping in stores. With thnow being the Aries time of the year, I’m really exploring this Aries energy and what parts of it I want and don’t want, trying to separate them out from my Leo Sun/Rising. I’m also 71 and don’t WANT to wait for anything/anyone any more.
I just love this piece of writing oh so much. In my life I have let many things go without comment but there have been times where the crossover of a boundary line caused me to respond and as a consequence no longer had that friendship. “It is what it is” I tell myself and what is meant to be.
