Sun in Libra, Moon in Aries

The age old question is addressed under this Full Moon: how much do I give to the other, how willing am I to compromise? How willing am I to dance with you versus how much can I remain autonomous, independent without adjusting my rhythm and style so that I can be my real self?

I am single. I was married twice in this life and loved each era of my life. Was it fun to be dancing, sleeping, living with another? YES! Did my Libra Rising find fulfillment in being devoted to love? YES!

I have Moon in Aries. Do I love moving through this life with Fire and total independence? YES! I do. Do I love to do what I want, when I want, with no one to answer to? YES! This polarity is acceptable and even valuable once duality does not demand me taking a side. Ultimately, there is life’s call, where we abandon free will and allow life to call the shots. What else can we do? Argue with life? Yes, too many frustrated folks argue with life. Good luck with that – it doesn’t work.

“Will I re-enter a relationship and give away my freedom,” asks the Full Moon in Aries. “Can’t we seek romance and go back into the dating world,” asks the Sun in Libra. Yes, no. Yes, no. Can you feel the ping pong game, the swinging scales as they move from one side to the other?

This is what this Full Moon is all about – it starts off personal in this newsletter but this theme continues to politics and beyond. Can a Republican understand a Democrat? Does Israel have any understanding of Palestine’s plight? Does the Sun spend any sustained time with the Moon? Does Winter ever date Summer? Do men have an understanding of a woman’s emotional needs? Do we women know how to let men be who they are without complaint?

The realm of duality rules supreme in this existence – that is just the truth. Without complaining about what is, duality does rule us. Duality can become a beautiful truth/reality. On the other hand, duality can polarize us and set us up from one side, denying the other as if we had no free will at all.

Can you imagine a world without such tension? If you are single and loving it – when love arrives everything changes, and suddenly you surrender. If you are in a relationship and it should end by circumstances beyond your control, or an obvious expiration date shows up – when you let go, suddenly everything shifts. This is the dilemma: change is beckoning our name. Do we surrender or resist?

Seems to me this part of reality is a bit dated: to be so caught up in one side or the other that it perpetuates a painful existence of resistance. What if we allowed life to have different opinions and policies, to move through seasons and years with no resistance? Imagine that we are not determined – good or bad – but rather we understand the movement from one era, from one karmic assignment to another, as just “different” assignments.

Was there ever a time that politics allowed two different parties to be in tandem? Yes. Was there ever a means for the mind to not argue with what fate/life had in mind for you? Yes.

In honor of this Full Moon that includes a Grand Trine in Water (3 planets all 120 degrees apart in the same Element) let’s see if we can cultivate compassion. I love to watch both parties, listen to both sides, to be single and in a relationship with those I love without complaint. I love to be an example of this Full Moon.

This is my prayer: that we learn to accept what is. Let us cultivate compassion for the Middle East, for North Carolina, for Florida, and the crazy weather all over this polarized planet. Is this nature’s way of insisting we surrender to what is?

The moment we accept what is with real human emotions and authenticity is when this world, no matter the story line, becomes truly beautiful. Under this Full Moon, I pray to be able to accept what is – not without my emotional reactions, but to quickly move to the center, to equanimity as fast as I can. To be a role model for what humanity ought to be in the future: a loving species that accepts life’s call no matter the story line.

A big dream under a big Full Moon. Will you join me?

Debra

Wow – what a beautiful call to action/nonaction. A deep challenge but a necessary message. Lao-Tzu wrote, “Just remain at the center watching, and then forget that you are there.” Thank you Debra, I hope many in the collective read and share this.

I was born under a Libra full moon and my sun is in Aries. This is the story of my life. At 55, and in a 5 year new-ish relationship, I’m just now getting the hang of it. Balance. You’re you, I’m me. Together we are we, kind of, just as long as my Taurus guy allows my Leo rising to be queen. 😆

    I think I need a direction

Wow, thank you so much Deborah, this is such a good explanation! Really helpful💖💫
my 2nd saturn return divorce after suppressed cancer sun/NN emotions caused my sag moon explosive reaction. Now understanding my spiral down and emptiness, it’s how to gain a balance and ‘re-light my fire’ after my water has virtually extinguished my flame and I withdrew into my shell!
This does give some light and hope on my situation.
    Much love and appretiation🙏💖

Lighthearted or heavyhearted we all exist in this world to cherish who we are and shine as we are. You are we are we are all one ♥Love♥ Shining our hearts in this full moon.

    I’d love to join you.
The political polarity is ever present in my mind… for I remember the gut wrenching realities of Novenber 2016 and how it affected us for 4 long years. Though I do my best to look to the future with Hope and live in the present with Compassion, fear keeps creeping in.
I tell myself that I’m in control of my thoughts and I decide what I spend my energy on… the struggle to focus is real. I keep bringing myself back to supporting Hope, Compassion and Joy every conscious of the monster hiding just out of clear sight… Fear leaves a lingering scent that is easily recognized. It feels like it’s just waiting to overwhelm us at a moments notice.

I would love to think we could be accepting of our differences. I’m worried about why you are asking this at this point.

  • Karoline Pontrelli says:

Your message was explainmery and beautiful
    We’ve all experienced those feelings.

    Thank you

  • Amber Durrell says:

A little more compassion, a little less reaction.

  • Rosie says:

Cardinal Grand Cross can’t be ignored either though… Full Moon in Aries, Im paying attention to what triggers me..
    • Maybe it’s anger that arises when basic needs for security aren’t being met
    (Mars in Cancer)
    • Maybe it’s a sense of shame, feeling that my existence is insignificant or that others might reject ( Chiron in Aries)
    • Maybe it’s fear, rooted in the belief that the world is a dangerous place and that we’re not equipped to face its challenges (Pluto in Capricorn)
    • Maybe it’s the urge to withdraw from all the emotional discomfort and shift
responsibility onto others (Suns in Libra).

But a natal Aries Sun here, Libra asc with a grand trine in water and this moon is hitting hard!! 👊🏼

Acceptance is the Key. I have had several romantic relationships in my life, but the last one Really did a number on me! Why? Because I didn’t know Myself? How can I be in a Healthy Relationship with another without knowing Myself? So the last 15 years have been all about me, healing, learning & understanding me.
And now I’m in the Applied Astrology where I’m learning Why I am the way through yet another lens! My plan is to help others do the same. It’s So Important right now!
Thank you Debra, for giving us a Language to understand ourselves! 🙏💓♈️♓️♐️

Thank you Debra for your message of reason. As a Libra rising and Aries moon too, I resonate with your vision of how the world can be. As visionaries, we will be the ones to help direct what’s possible in the world and sharing such a hopeful message feels like what the world needs.
