Sun in Capricorn. Moon in Capricorn.

There is a particular stillness that arrives with all dark skies… this time it is quiet, serious, and not exactly fun.

Under this New Moon, there are just simple questions:

Am I working too hard?
Am I procrastinating?
Am I on track with my soul purpose?

I know a woman who is admired by everyone. She was dependable. Accomplished. Grounded. The kind of person others leaned on without hesitation. When something needed to be handled, she handled it. When life fell apart for others, she stayed standing.

However, she never felt she was doing what she was here to do. That she was doing enough. And she was tired — always the designated driver, quietly complaining…

“I don’t know who I would be if I stopped being that person. If I didn’t work that hard. If I didn’t carry all the details.”

She didn’t say it dramatically. She said it the way Capricorn speaks — carefully and bluntly.

In that moment, I saw the shadow of this archetype clearly.

Capricorn often learns early that survival requires strength. Many Capricorn children grow up way too early, where there is no room for softness, no tolerance for collapse. So they adapt, take on the job, and carry the load. They become capable far too young.

And the world rewards them for it.

The emotional body does not disappear simply because it is inconvenient. It waits. Patient. Silent. Storing everything.

Carl Jung said that what we do not make conscious will direct our lives — and we will call it fate.

Under this New Moon, Capricorn asks us to make something conscious: the weight we have normalized.

When did you decide that you are in the wrong job?

Or that you aren’t doing enough?

That you are lazy — or too hard-working?

The shadow of Capricorn is not ambition — it is emotional exile. Being needed more than being known. Valued for output rather than presence. Loved for what you provide rather than who you are.

This New Moon is asking how to reframe the hard workers — or the lazy ones — with compassion.

Let’s get real…

About exhaustion.
About loneliness.
About working too much without thanks.

Honesty about the cost of always being “the strong one.”

Tonight, under this New Moon, sit quietly with this question:

What are you holding that no longer belongs to you?

You don’t have to answer it all at once. Capricorn understands time. But you do have to tell the truth — at least to yourself.

I would love to hear what this New Moon reveals to you. Speak it gently. Let it be real.

Strength was never meant to be carried alone. Judgments are not required when you are in a class called Earth.

Let me know…

I have always wondered and still wondering why I find it so hard to ask for help. That will be my question tonight and hopefully at age 69 I will find some answers and maybe start practicing reaching out when I need some help.
I have been listening to you for awhile now Debra and I appreciate the impact that it’s had had on my life. Thank You 🙂

I believed in a woman and had seen her my life partner . It was the first time in my life that I let my heart and emotions steer the way for me . When she said, she wanted to leave and walk her path on her own, my whole world collapsed for a minute. I knew I didn’t have the luxury to be lost in my emotions. So I put my heart back to where it belongs and carried on with my mind and responsibilities. I believe it’s time to let her go because she doesn’t belong to me anymore !

I’m a late degree Moon in Cap and was recently explaining procrastination to my youngest child – who pronounced it “procrasssination”…so I’ve been using it as a way of reminding myself not to procrastinate in a funny way. I tell myself, “Whatever you do, don’t procrassszzzinate, Mommy!” And getting less serious about the reminders, less critical in my self-talk, has helped me do things I don’t wanna do more efficiently!

For much of my life I have strived to do everything perfectly. In my home, no messes
everything organized, kitchen clean, beds made, and then off to my work. There I had the same goals for myself in my nursing career as a pediatric nurse, USAF nurse, general nursing care and eventually a after additional educational a Geriatric nurse practitioner. Those wishes to be able to keep my personal appearance and my life ” outstanding” have only graduallu
relaxed in the past 10 years with age and decline in my energy. Now at 86 my health and energy has continued to vacillate. Any evidence of my tendency to keep my environment “perfect” has long dissappeared. I truly can enjoy living my life
as this imperfect more content woman.

“ Being needed more than being known. Valued for output rather than presence. Loved for what you provide rather than who you are.” amazing words!!! Thank you

Thank you for helping me clarify my lived experience. Being needed more than being known. That phrase lands true and points the way forward in my journey and work toward expanding my sense of connection. It has to start with me being willing to be open and seen. So grateful.

Thank you Debra. I’m a Capricorn sun and I’m so tired of perfectionism, always going past my limits in doing everything and being the person who takes care of everything. I’ve got burned out several times but since a few months the universe put me on pause. It has been impossible for me to get a job for a while now (years). It’s time to let go and learn new healthy ways and especially boundaries. With this New moon in Capricorn (I’m also a Pisces moon and Aquarius rising, with a stellium in Aquarius) I will make changes and manifest what I want and also what I want to let go of.

This! Oh yes! I’m Cap. 12/29. Your words could not describe me better. But. Starting a couple of months ago, I began the process of shedding more of that ‘need to be everything to everyone’. Retired from full time RN January 2023 and have been reclaiming and realizing me. I shed my RN identity.

Interesting read. Blimey. Frighteningly relevant. I have Capricorn moon and leading up to this point has been a rollercoaster. I yo-yo between both states of being. Doing all the crappy jobs one minute and in a coma the next, thinking ‘I really must do something’. The new moon feels like a breathing point to me. I’m just hoping the roller coaster doesn’t start up again. Or I’ll have to get motion sickness pills. I’m hoping the new moon brings change instead. And things calm *! down.

I’m a Leo with a cap rising Pisces moon and born on a full moon and Saturn in Scorpio I’m always extreme loud and always going or feel like I should be. I’m not easy to get along with I can change my mind at least 5 times a week and now that I’m older and trying to be on my own for the first time I’m not doing so well and I started drinking every day and I’m a night person. I think my favorite thing would be a midnight Gardner. I like the night now I’m starting to get hungry at 3 am. If I didn’t have people who lived around me so near any way it would be fine but it’s not something people think is normal. I think I might have to be some where where it is warmer weather. But I can’t afford to even feed myself most of the time without taking out credit but I’ll just keep trying till I can’t

I cried as I read this, holding the lives of my two sisters, who are capricorns, within my heart. Acknowledging that they are always there, yet beneath the strong appearances, leadership roles, always giving, providing, and protecting, I see them now more clearly, needing to be held, loved and shown how much they mean to me. I will show up through more awareness now and BE there for them in more meaningful ways.
Thank you for sharing this valuable insight into our Capricorns Debra.
    Much love and gratitude,
    Beverly
