Moon in Virgo, Sun in Pisces
We are at the Full Moon in Pisces season. There are three planets in Pisces, with a Full Moon opposing them in Virgo.
Let me tell you a story.
One of my dearest friends had a recent cancer scare. It showed up with a cloudy mammogram that provided some confusing images of her breasts. She immediately did all the spiritual things – finding a healer who could diagnose with alternative means and working with her mind to prepare for a miracle. Looking deeply into her world to determine the contributing factors, ready to make necessary changes.
All of that could be considered soft science, however this is the right answer: Spirituality is medicine when seeking relief.
This very large Moon in Virgo represents the practical healer who demands concrete reality! Not easy when you have read all the spiritual books, sought out healers your whole life, and have no obvious symptoms. In fact, she had been feeling better than ever. Going practical didn’t seem the right answer, at least not to begin with.
Pisces is the part of all of us who believe in magic. Virgo, its opposite, wants concrete results and hard evidence and can disregard the magic. After several healing sessions and a visit to Kauai for a few weeks, she finally went to get the MRI and the biopsy that confirmed, “Yes, it is cancer.”
Instantly: Prayers are in order. I have been asking my angels to help (Pisces), and then there is the question, “What shall we do next inside the medical arena (Virgo)?” One of the questions to ask is: How much magic do we do until we actually need the surgery?
There is this old saying: “Tie your camel first, and then put your trust in Allah.” This Full Moon asks us to dance in both worlds. To have faith, to call the healers and then go straight to the doc and hear what is suggested.
Her Progressed Moon is in Scorpio, so she is scaring herself with thoughts of death sourced from plain, old fear. She has Saturn in Scorpio, so this conversation is familiar to her. Plus, she is a Virgo dealing with practicality at all times. Isn’t it crazy how much room the mind has to include all the “feels,” “fears,” and concrete steps? Everyone’s mind is a multitasking machine that must have an OFF button. That is if you can find it.
I absolutely know she will make it through this ordeal. The Pisces in me has faith not just in her soul but in life itself. The Virgo in all of us knows that reality is asking for change. Two responses as opposite as this Full Moon. Faith, plus a willingness to change.
Over the last 10 years, my friend has had a business partner, one she nurtured way past her comfort to do so, stepping over her boundaries time and time again. Her spouse and I have asked the question: Why won’t she just let him go? No surprise, upon this diagnosis, she finally said she was letting go of that business with him no matter what. Wow, at long last. Is this what cancer does: encourage CHANGE?
The spiritual response to a cancer diagnosis: To totally change something in your life, to take a new look at what you are doing, focusing on the lessons in store. To do both – tie up your camel/do the Virgo thing to feel safe – and feel free to contact the magical people to anchor in your divine self, your Observer, and say aloud: “I need help. Calling all angels. Who can hold my heart while I’m scared?”
That is what friends do. I am standing right next to her. You, too, have your angels!
This Full Moon foreshadows what will come in the next ten years: How do we deal with hard truths without letting go of our faith? I would love to hear your ideas. In the meantime, I will pray to call in the angels for my friend.
You can do the same for whatever ailments you have. I love Virgo reality and Pisces hopefulness. This is how we do it: Mix up magic, add to practical reality, and trust you are being held. Everyone has a guardian angel. Lean in and know that whatever life’s handing you is exactly what you can handle.

I have sent up a prayer. She should visualize angels all around her and God’s pure white, healing light entering every cell in her body as His giant hand removes the cancer and tosses it into a Black Hole. It is no longer a part of this planet.

Uncanny, in that I also share a progressed moon now 28 Scorpio, with Saturn 0 Scorpio conjunct my 29 Libra sun & mars 24 Virgo. . Yee gads! Progressed moon almost in Sagittarius, can’t wait. In the interim, truth be known, something is going on inside of my stomach, wondering if it’s an ulcer & knowing I need to see my medical Doc. Debra, Virgo, Pices here, current level 1 student. In 1990 at 44 years of age, I went for a mammogram and they found something, suspicious. I was about to move to Seattle so put off doing anything for a couple of months. Found a great doc at UW, sure enough, cancer. Had surgery, tests showed all clear so I was ready to be on my way. Dr. Moe said, at the time, it’s not 5 but 10 years to be certain that you are clear. I had few thoughts about the possibility of a return, but 9 years later to the day, I was caused to have surgery again followed by chemo. Hard road, but lots of hot tubs, lots of cannabis, many friends and the discovery of a compounding pharmacist who gave me a list of specific supplements put my mind and body at rest, not easy for my Virgo. At one point, in my backyard, I opened my arms to the sky and loudly said, ok, whatever it is, I am ready. Never to be forgotten! It’s been 35 years. Sending Love and light to your friend.
