Moon in Gemini, Sun in Sagittarius
This Full Moon has a perfect T-square which means there’s some tension in the air for all our mutable signs. But here’s the deal – with Sag and Gemini running the show around here, we don’t have to worry too much about that tension. In the winter months of the Northern Hemisphere, daylight fights for its turn. Sagittarius shows up, to stoke the internal fires.
Under the cold months of a Sagittarius sky, we light fires in the hearth, burn our candles, and drink hot chocolate…with extra marshmallows. Fire is the name of this game. Jupiter’s child, ever eager to come out to play, has her turn as November turns to December.
Under a Sagittarius sky, we are starving for wisdom. We set out in search, traveling to the farthest corners of the world, turning over rocks, sitting with elders, chomping at the bit for any wisdom we can sink our teeth into.
And then we find it. We gather it, we bundle it together, and tuck it safely within us, to bring it home and teach our people all the ways of the world and all the mysteries we’ve discovered.
Under this sky, we want more. More of what, you ask? Anything. Everything. More life, more adventure, more indulgence. Sagittarius fills the room with YES energy. Will we get in trouble? Sure. Will we overdo it? Probably. Will we over-promise? Of course. It is the way of the Jupiter soul.
Sagittarius laughter bounces off of walls and straight into our hearts. They teach us the lightness of being. They teach us that the dark, the shadow, the heaviness of life, can be transmuted by their Element of Fire. Whether it’s the tiny flame of the candle, or a roaring bonfire, we will sit in honor to this Element and heat our hands by its warmth.
Sagittarius doesn’t want to play alone. Gemini has heard their call. Look up…there it is…a Gemini Full Moon, come to play! You see, Gemini was bored, and knew that Sagittarius season would be the most ideal time for them to show up and dance in the sky, in all their fullness.
Sagittarius is filled with delight, as Gemini shines in full lumination – finally, a friend that fully gets Sagittarius. They take each other by the hand, and off they go, to find a Water sign they can wake up, or an Earth sign they can talk into taking a day off. It’s not a time for work with a Gemini Full Moon under a Sag sky. No, silly, it’s a time to grab life by the stars and all it has to offer.
Gemini flits about, and Sag fills the room with belly laughter as they try to catch that lithe Gemini sprite. What fun they have playing hide and seek, running from each other and then towards each other. It’s an endless game of delight when these two are together, as they are every December.
They land in the classroom. Gemini takes their seat at the desk, the eager student, as Sag teaches. Oh, what’s that? They’ve switched places! Now Sag is the student and Gemini the teacher. They keep us on our toes. Don’t assign them roles…these two…they’ll switch it up as they see fit.
Gemini looks at Sagittarius with that glint of mischief in her eyes, and Sagittarius takes the bait – off they go to wake up the sleepy world with philosophical questions, with jokes, with stories. Oh, the stories they tell! The full Gemini Moon takes care of the details, and Sag takes those details and paints a grand picture of wholeness.
As the Gemini Full Moon fades, wanes back into another phase of herself, Sagittarius sighs. It was fun while it lasted. She’ll count the days until she can play with her opposing self again; her other half…her best friend.
And so, Sagittarius takes off again…wandering the land, looking for indulgence and wisdom, philosophy and excitement, questioning religions and the status quo…remembering her playmate, Gemini, with reverence.
Before she hands the torch to Lady Capricorn on the Solstice, what other kind of trouble can she get into? She grins, as something catches her eye, and there she goes, taking off towards the farthest horizon, once again.
P.S. I hope you enjoyed this original piece from Certified Astrologer and Applied Astrology Mentor, Malika Semper! It captured the essence of this lunation so well- I had to share. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

This made my day! With fire rising, earth sun & water moon, I can get pulled in so many directions, especially this time of year. Do I work, play, relax, indulge, keep it in moderation? This tells me, don’t take it so seriously – I love the thought of these two ancient friends in the sky delighting together, as we should!
