Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Taurus.
I just got to spend a few days with both of my brothers — the first time we’ve all been together in 20 years. I tell you this story because both of my brothers are Scorpio, born on the same day. However, one of them was born under the Full Moon. The one born under the Scorpio Full Moon cries so easily it’s shocking.
It’s slightly embarrassing for a man to have this kind of sensitivity. And yet, throughout our entire lives, his heart opens so easily that tears run down his face the moment he’s touched. I asked him, “Are you okay with the fact that you cry all the time?”
His answer was, “It’s fine.” And I thought to myself, what if this was accepted — if men (and women) were allowed to be tender, to cry the moment their hearts opened?
I’m going to ask you the same question: What would you be like if your vulnerability had no mask, no guard and no shield to distance you from the raw human experience? This is my brother.
To tell the truth, it hasn’t served. Well, he is a very financially successful (as many Scorpios are) person. His emotional body has created a very stubborn point of view to try to control his world
So that includes political points of view that are radical. That includes possessiveness around maintaining his financial safety and the protection of his family.
However, something changed. He passed the age of 70, and he became aware that his stubbornness — the stance of being right and the protection of his vulnerability — had pushed people away. This time, when we were together, he cried and apologized to me for how opinionated and judgmental he has been.
So I’m going to challenge you, reading this under the Full Moon: do you have opinions that protect you from being open? In the world we live in right now, what’s required more than ever is a soft heart. I love when my brother’s tears begin to fall.
To tell the truth, part of me is jealous of that coping responsiveness. I am not entirely sure what changed him – maybe it was the distance some of his children have from him because of this quality. Maybe it’s because of the distance I’ve had from him because of this quality. I’m not sure exactly what has been melting his shield of stubbornness that makes him so immovable.
I long to live on a planet where people have the ability to hold their opinions, yet equally, to let others have a distinctive, radically different point of view without judgment.
On my epitaph, I told my brother I wanted it to say, “She didn’t judge.” Everyone’s opinion is welcome on this planet. There are too many of us to think anyone has a corner on the market of truth.
The only truth I want is for our hearts to be open, our minds willing to include different points of curiosity, and a remembrance that we are all here to heal our ancestral wounds.
Being with my brothers during Scorpio season… I touched old wounds. I cried. I melted. And I remembered that love transcends differences.
May we all, under this Full Moon, recover the part of us we left behind as children — the part that believed everybody was allowed to have their opinion. Things would be so different if we truly realized that nobody has a corner on the truth.
Nobody.
I’m challenging you to ask this question: are your opinions separating us from each other? Is there a point of view you could entertain — the quest of opening up the heart? I’m so curious.

Debra,
As a Scorpio with mostly water, fire and air, I do understand being stubborn. In the past, I would be very disappointed if a plan didn’t work out, or, insisting on doing something in my comfort zone… Like taking a particular route, etc.
One day I realized I was bumping my head against a wall. I made the consious choice to be flexible. I have worked at it and still do pay attention.
With water Sun, Mercury and Ascendant, I can be, and do, have strong emotions… The fire is Moon, Pluto, North Node and Jupiter is fixed fire. Fortunately I have mutable Uranus, Vesta. Mars, and Saturn in air.
The mutable in air helps the stubborn quality to be able to learn flexibility
I trust my heart/intuition. In these evolving times, I refuse to stay stuck in the past and will do what it takes to understand what needs to shift or go.
Blessings and love, Joy and light

Thank you Debra! I love that you express this point so openly, I live everyday remembering we all get to have a point of view and we all live in our own truth! How beautiful that is! Bless you and all you do!! Love and light my friend 🧡 💫❤️
This is a beautiful reflection, Debra. We all need to soften and stop judging others. What a world it would be if we could just operate from the place of LOVE.
My experience is w being that sensitive as a female is that i felt I needed to control everything around me (even though that’s a delusional thing to attempt) and keep people an arm’s length was to keep myself from and protect myself from getting hurt which for me, being that sensitive was easy to do. As a child and teenager, no one really taught me how to handle being sensitive and emotional. As an adult, my profession was a Registered Nurse for 42 years. I’m now retired and I’m coming back to myself, understanding that no one really teaches nurses how to handle the emotional toll of taking deep care of patients and their families takes on nurses. So I bottled it up inside my body where I held it. Oh. I showed I cared, but I never ‘lost control’ because I feared I’d ’lose it’ and I had to finish work. It becomes a habit over the years. As a male in today’s world…the constant push to be ‘ masculine’ which doesn’t seem to include being human, has to be incredibly difficult, I would imagine.
I have felt I needed to judge my children’s lives and that it was my job to set things straight , to protect them and that I knew how. I’ve realized I needed to deal with my own life and let them live theirs. If they come to me for help I will do my best but I have to be very careful of unwanted advice. So judging their lives thinking I know how they should live has been let go of. Control is like sand between your fingers…
Thanks for sharing your experience, Debra.
What I have learned only recently and very strongly and through taking level one in your Applied Astrology course is acceptance of others for who they are at any time, any reaction.
This attitude I have donned as a credo for me has served me to have the inner dialogue with myself when judgment peeks in, so I can say to myself,
“there are reasons for this that I don’t need to know, to feel better”
I then gently and simply accept, feel love for and towards myself and the other(s) and judgment lifts rather quickly and softness prevails without a need to witness anything changing.
Well Debra, I am sorry but I have no tolerance for hatred and cruelty of any kind and let’s not leave out ignorance of humans who poison the environment and one another with harmful philosophies. I have been in touch with my intuition since I was a little girl and given the gift of waking visions and messages I guess from my spiritual guides, angels and my beloved mother who was passed on… I feel in my spirit how we’re supposed to live in behave so yes, I am stubborn about that and especially now! I lead with kindness, but I am saddened that history keeps repeating itself and when will we ever learn… I’m just being honest I love you and Colette and you are my mentors and I know you understand my viewpoint I feel it. I respect you and honor you and I feel joy knowing you and Colette live in the world to spread your pure goodness and intentions. Thank you, Gayle
peoples, opinions do seperate people. only if thier rigid opinions. as for people having different opinions is a good thing. but only if thier hearts are open to new opinions. as we are learning to the day we die. some people only see other peoples perspectives when forced to. or so late in life. we should all be more open to learn off eachother.
When it comes to matters of the heart, love is seeking a loving response from
another human being. Nothing else will do.
I believe as you do. I am married to a Scorpio. Separated for three years now. It was so good for so long. He then started drinking whiskey. Also a narcissist. It got really bad.
But back to our subject. We all deserve to feel how we feel, be able to let it show and not be shameful . It is good to let our feelings out.
We can’t let them take over . But I think if we let them out we can let them go. They would at least be better.
Like children. We cried but then we were ok after we got it out. Most of the time.
I think I will be more like a child. I’m a Pisces. So there we go. I don’t feel shame or apologize much.
I loved your short story. 😊
Thank you for sharing your story about you and your brothers. My son is a Scorpio and he has those strong protection and stubborn traits too.
I am an Aquarius who has suppressed her emotions most of my life and now my emotions seems to be bubbling over without control so I can totally relate to your brother. Although unlike your brother I have not been ok with this so I am currently on a journey to accept my vulnerability and to also help others to work through any suffering they may have stored up from their childhood and guide them toward healing from the inside out.
Loved seeing you and Colette last night, you two are great together,
Maybe I never grew up and maybe my catholic upbringing helped me keep that interest in the many flavors of people. Cultures were fascinating to me and I miss my high school days in the international club meeting kids from different countries. I wanted to be an archeologist. Christianity filled in the rest. Judgment isn’t for us, we’re all the same monkeys. Your classes helped me be more understanding of personalities. Our 32 flavors and then some ✨️
Thank you for sharing ❣️🌈🙏
This is lovely to hear Debra. I met you last year at One Golden Thread in Venice. I was crying tears of joy and tears of great gratitude when I met you, because of your teachings & influence I got to know myself much more than I thought I knew! I got a chance to turn my life around and wake up everyday with excitement because astrology can do that to you. Circling back to when I met you, you ask me ,”do you know where all that water is coming from ?” I replied, “yes, yes I do. I have Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio in the 6th H.” & you said, “HELLO!!!!”, I replied “I know, I know.” I’m glad to have made peace with my emotions, I used to be embarrassed but now I embrace that emotion as a human being. I am learning to be human after all.
I am like your brother Debra, I cry at anything that pulls at my heart worse now I am older as I have loads of compassion & understanding for the plight of all humans & creatures of this world. Never been good with cruelty to animals particularly whether in Nature or otherwise, a deeply moving take or movie will cause tears I just feel everything. My other senses are pretty on fire too, aural, visual, kinetic, etc.In Numerology I am an 11.1.1.11 I guess that says a lot. Happy to be a little black duck ( left handed) & have a very different grip on the world. Feel privileged to be able to feel on a holistic level. Luv you Debra Silverman — you are one very unique ” hooman” 🙏🤗💖
I truly enjoy your insight. I want to learn more. I struggle with computers.
Deborah, such a beautiful message. It goes right to my heart because I too have a brother like that and he does not approve of me. The more inner work I do the more freely my tears flow. I love this!
I don’t know if anyone on the planet who embodies their soul mission is fully as you do. You are my role model. Muchas Gracias.
I need a little extra help getting started.
I have a Scorpio rising and was born on a full moon. I cry at the drop of a hat! I found it so comforting that there isn’t anything wrong with me. I hate that I wear my emotions on my sleeve and although I try to control my emotions they are just too overwhelming. I do not like this about myself. It’s embarrassing!
I believe people see me as weak and unable to control myself. Also I have a Cancer moon! Double trouble?
This was very powerful. My Scorpio son is very much like this. He has not opened his heart yet but I hope it’s coming.
Judgement stops the flow of love. May we all surrender all judgements.
Thank you.
Thank you Debra for sharing your experience with your brother. I always find myself taking a pause and really taking in your wisdom every time I read anything written by you. I needed to let you know that I am blessed to have come across your beautiful words and I am so appreciative for you to be so opened. 🫶🏻
It took me years to understand that not only was I allowed to have an opinion and I could voice it. Now, a few years and more experiences later, I’m doing my best to peel off the protective layers around my heart. That has led me to practice radical and unconditional acceptance of others – and myself. Age is a funny thing: how different things look at 77.
