Moon in Sag, Sun in Sag

A double Sagittarius sky. The question for any deep thinker under a double Sag sky is – is it a happy time? For some, yes; for others, not so much. For all of us, the question, no matter your politics, is: can you find optimism in the midst of chaos? How do we “make okay” with what is happening right now in our very fast-changing world? If you only knew how much this lives in my head.

I am by nature a Sagittarius thinker. l just love the big questions that allow the mind to jump, reflect and then spin so much so I find myself a researcher looking to experts – those who are studied and well read. I long for truth. My dream: a neutral wisdom panel to answer – what is going on?

I wanted to swear right there. WTF is happening? No one can swear like a Sag. It’s upsetting for all of us which makes some people loud and boisterous.

Whatever sign you are, we could make a very long list of the many confusing factors of 2024 – but I don’t have to – because you already know.  Let’s look at the hard, solid facts of what we know for sure. Reality can surely soothe confusion.

What we know for sure:

  1. The Sun is 93 million miles from Earth. Perfect distance for allowing us to live this life with elegance.
  2. We can breathe the Air – in a perfect balance of carbon and oxygen.
  3. Water always arrives with a pH balance that permits the body to accept this nutrient effortlessly.
  4. There is enough food for so many variations on taste buds that if you don’t like apples, you are bound to like oranges. If you don’t drink coffee you may surely like tea…We are invited to eat whatever we want.
  5. And Fire, my favorite Element. Every soul has arrived here through an orgasm (that’s so Sag to say) creating life in its wildly abundant ways – AND YET – we all suffer from a collective mindset that has us looking outside of ourselves to find peace, to find leadership, to find government and direction. We are lost and found. Confused and yet sure of the Sun coming up tomorrow.

This is the greatest design fault of this existence: we have a mind, and it comes with an ego that simply has too many options, yet not enough honor and humanitarianism to allow this existence to live with true kindness and peace.

Okay, well there you have the problem. Our ego has no need to forgive, to be kind, share and care without practice. We are not built to live in a consensus reality where we all know how to produce easy, gentle, considerate value. It’s so strange that for all the intelligence of the human species we are not a race who thinks about the next generation, fully committing ourselves to providing a balanced, healthy world.

It’s true, isn’t it? It’s a blunt double Sag truth – we are not a kind species. That does not mean I am talking about you. I have always played clean. I know my innards. I know the values I live by. It’s so real. I care, and I always want to do the next right thing, no matter if anyone is watching or not. I have my own conscience to answer to, so does every person on this planet. However, that operating system is not working in our favor.

This is Sagittarius at their best, trusting themselves and the world and being respectful when someone says, “I don’t like swearing. I don’t like what you just said.” And there begins the invitation to the future. What if we were all willing to listen and ask the question: why did you do what you did? Listen and then let the other person speak. It’s such an easy game. But truthfully, I can’t do it.

I just called an ex to see if we could clear the space and return to neutral but no, it didn’t work. Good attempt but not good enough to return back to our original sweetness. He kept saying, “You are judging me,” and I said, “You are disrespecting me. “ We got nowhere.

How can I make the change? Try again. Never give up, said every Sagittarius. Just stay positive that maybe one day it will change. I will change. He will change. Try to bless the unacceptable for the conditions of your awakening. To accept the unacceptable and seek peace no matter what; it’s what we are all here to do.

I am trying. My optimism has waned in the last few months. But I keep trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Even when my mind insists there is no hope.

There is always hope. The perfection of the natural world is our teacher. I go to nature to be reminded of pure beauty even in the midst of the mess – fallen leaves, cluttered gardens, mosquitos – not to mention elections. I just keep having hope. It’s the Sag in me.

What about you? What keeps you hopeful? Tell me. I’d love to hear your point of view.

Debra

I agree with every single thing that you say. I am a Sagitarius.too. I swear when faced with an obstacle that seems insurmountable.
TRUMP IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. Our world is going upsidedown.
I am still reeling from the election result.
    But I will survive.

Debra, triple Fire 🔥 here! Sun in Leo in the 12th House of Pisces ♓️ Moon in Aries in the 9th House of Sagittarius ♐️ .
After the election, I went into mourning for this World 🌎. My Fire didn’t allow me to stay too long (3 days).
How I moved through it, was getting up in the morning and singing in the shower (Venus in Virgo in the 2nd House of Taurus ♉️). After getting dressed, I head to my Meditation Sacred Space to drum the Reiki symbols into the Collective ending with a prayer 🙏🏼 That is my Moon in Aries ♈️ in the 9th House of Sagittarius ♐️ answer to dealing with that, that I have no control over.
If those feelings of dispare arise, I acknowledge them and switch into action mode. This is how I get through these moments in time.

What keeps me hopeful? The experiences in my 66 years of life on this earth. There have been many points in my life where all looked hopeless and dire, then the magical unexpected turnarounds. The first hopeless situation was when I was 16 and stuck down by a strange mysterious little know disease that left me completely paralyzed from head to toe and in the ICU fighting for my life within four days of onset. Two weeks later I was diagnosed with Guillian Barre syndrom (French polio.) I was the third case ever in the state of Washington. An iron lung had been brought into my room to move me into. My parents were told I may not survive due to the severity of my lung condition at this point. If I did survive I may never regain my full mobility. After that doctor who gave us that news left my room, my very unusual engineer brain father said “who says you have to believe him!” Oh, and terror of terror to my 15 year old mind was that I would for certain not return to school any time soon, which meant being held back a year! My dad, the forever problem solver, contacted an institute in Kansas studying mind healing for the body using visualization and meditation techniques. This was 1973, so trying to explain to the doctors what dad was teaching me to do was laughable. The fourth week I was there I was told that I would be in physical therapy for a long time and expect to return to school in a wheel chair that year if at all. I did the PT with every fiber of my being and also the total expectation I would return to school fully functioning and walking. I practiced my healing visualizations daily. I was getting on the bus and walking into to school eight weeks from onset of symptoms. Mind you my large family had a very chaotic household, my father was an unpredictable man with a bad temper, our financial situation was feast or famine, and my father blew up the family and left three years after this. I married, had six children and have also had several severe testings in my life but I always have faith that with the right mindset mixed with faith any thing can turn around.

6 degree Gemini, 5 degree Aquarius in 1st house. Air trine (Libra). Self explanatory. So much thinking, seeing both sides of the issue. Having a bit of trouble understanding people right now. Not all people, just have the voters. Thank goodness Pluto has moved to Aquarius. Hope is my favorite 4-letter word.

I have been a nurse since 1972. I care for the elderly most recently. I am also a resource for people to get services to live safely , independently in their home. What keeps me hopeful is service and staying in the solution even when it looks grim. The challenge is to keep your head up and say , Have I looked at all the options?

    Hey Debra,
I just read this Sag and although I am an Aquarius my son is a Sag and my other son is a Cancer and when confronted about the question “who did this?” when they were young children I discovered that my Sag could NEVER tell a lie and my Cancer guy would tell a lie but not outright he tended to “lie” by omission. I find this Sag article very true to form for my Sag dude. I am re-reading your book The Missing Element and maybe someday I can afford a deeper dive into your classes. I need to light a fire under myself.

  • Kate says:

Thank you for this piece of wisdom. I am a Sag sun (Leo moon conjunct Pluto) and boy did it resonate.
This has been a tough year (for more than myself) and I am living in hope that it is merely a
‘Plutonic’ transition shift that will lead to better days for ALL. And I mean ALL.
Today I am taking time to count my multitude of blessings and give thanks.

    Oh yes Debra…well stated.
When my hope is dimmed & the weight of the “old Earth paradigm “closes in; for me, resolve is found in EarthMama’s embrace. As I walk in the sanctity of nature; I feel my pace slow, each step becoming more attentive to “I am here now”. The SALKA (undomesticated energies “ of place reclaim my beingness back into their steady rhythmic flow. I am home again. I breathe deeply and release. With my pulse in her rhythmic flow; I drop to my knees & place my open palms upon her belly. Profound Lifeforce, I share with her… I listen with my heart. Pura Vida. I release my salty tears upon her. I am her child; She my Mother. This is “ new Earth Consciousness “ profound awareness of place & our responsibilities to Self, each other & our profound Mother Earth. I bow to her magnificence. Jallalla! In celebration of Life!

I will never give up my hope in what seems to be a hopeless world right now. I still believe that there is more love than hate, and more light than darkness. Debra, the love+light you carry + spread makes a difference. I love you so much. With love+ light, Ellie

Wow how blunt and seasonal. Almost a little Debbie downer. Phone another friend with no expectations. Or more nature equal more wisdom for me. It allows me to bring agitation and then have an awakening or at least different perspective.

My Scorpio moon had me having similar distress and then Sag rolls in. Then spending time alone walking in nature observing everything is like warm soup on a cold day for my soul
Sending Love to you and everyone

    Dear Debra,
I loved your post. I tried to solve the level
Of chaos reaching me by not watching the news and by sitting by the ocean every day, breathing in the peace and beauty. It does help, but I no longer am aware (or am mildly aware) of what is going on in the world, which isn’t a perfect solution. Then we have a group here in this small town, who are ‘awake’ and I align with their beliefs from what I’ve researched and learned.. Still, I don’t want to meet to discuss the many strange things happening in our world – focusing on the negative. My kids don’t believe or understand anything beyond what they see on CNN. My 24-year old granddaughter leaves in a few days for Latvia where she will serve as a Sergeant there for 6 months with the UN Forces. I’m praying that things don’t explode there. Peace and beauty – is that hiding my head (and heart) in the sand?

    Hi Debra!
What keep me hopeful is that I can change myself, transform myself, even it’s very hard. I’m a Leo, and a Leo almost everytime learns from hard challenges. They don’t know other way, but they learn. If I want to change something, first of all, it must change myself. Different perspective, different way to action… felling better. The hard way.

    Thank you, Debra!

Thank you Debra for this soulful and honest writing. I had my birthday on the 25th and resonate with all you have said. It felt soothing to have someone mirror my current feelings.

  • Kim says:

I’m a Sag with Sag rising. Yes truth exists with every step on my journey. Truth is that I’m now ok knowing and it’s ok that I can know it and not share if the time is not right. A door must open to share the truth as I see it. Then again if it is to be said I let the force of nature speak through me. Always knowing my hope lies in the truth.

  • Frances says:

Thank you so much for your beautiful Sagi words of wisdom, Debra. 🙏 They are so very soothing in amidst the chaos I’m living in right now. A dear friend if mine has been diagnosed with breast cancer and I happen to be living with her temporarily as I just sold my house and am awaiting my next new forever home. In true Sun and Mercury in Sag in the 12th house style, and a healer by trade, I’m searching for the meaning in all this, staying optimistic and I, for one, will never relinquish ‘hope’. ❤️

  • Rensche Schep says:

    Thanks for sharing.

  • MaeLou says:

    Thank you Debra,
Your sharing hits my core deeply as I resonate.
I find I enjoy speaking with another Sag the most, where sharing is caring and authentic at 30K feet where we can see the bigger picture, the long view, the symbolism of actions at global level reflecting down to individual beliefs and past trauma held at cellular level. Change starts there, at the cell, reflecting outwards. Clearing in times of stress takes detachment, and getting back to neutral. That is baseline where change begins. And optimism, imagination and manifesting can fly free again.
My heart, emotional body, and psyche is hurting these days b/c I feel let down by fellow humans not caring about the greater good of country over greed and don’t care about individuals who just want to make a living, have a good life, and want the best for everyone.
That is my core Sag belief, the pollyanna outlook, that deep down we want and believe in the best for everyone, whatever their belief, lifestyle or political leanings. Are people basically unkind? No, just wounded by past trauma and acting out like hurt and angry children in the school yard.
But I have to remain detached and neutral to see the good in others. And I haven’t been feeling it. Grieving is ok. Sharing with another with a like minded outlook helps to let go and get back to a higher perception.
Good ole Pluto in Aquarius is in the house, hitting those notes hard, reminding me how standing strong in my power, I and everyone can remain centered in detachment and neutrality…Global Life Lesson 101, the basics are in session.
Hold strong in blessings and remain authentic in everything.

Aptly titled for me “Speaking blunt truths under Sag moon.” Virgo Sun, Pisces Full Moon, Ascending Capricorn/Aquarius ( limited extent of my understanding my chart). I’m living in a country blessed by geo, socio-economic distance & solid enough indigenous history to weather a lot of what’s been playing out globally. I too am drawn to the plentiful capacity of Gaia and cosmic support. I too am hopeful & trying to embody compassion. Feels easy from the comfort of my home, than living in the strife of it all – so I try and keep my thoughts & actions as true to my way of peace, compassion, incopening convo around this lusion etc as possible. To be present as a light for other options of being. Yvonne xx

Thank you again for sharing your journey and love and knowledge of astrology. I am blessed with a beautiful, sunny day in the Sononran desert of Arizona and the ability to walk in the fresh air and let my restrictive, hydrocarbon based form soak up some Vitamin D and high energy photons hitting Nova Gaia in this time of her raising her vibrational frequency. I am also having some difficulty receiving and adapting the high vibration energies in my unique chosen journey in this incarnation. My desire is to accompany Nova Mother Gaia in her Ascension to higher vibrations and frequencies but like yourself am losing emotional control and personal responsibility by placing blame on any circumstance or being which includes shouting and swearing. I am attempting to focus inward and reinforce my belief that I am Light, I am Free and I am one with Source Energy; the most powerful Energy that exists: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Circumstances don’t matter; only my state of being matters; what vibrations and frequencies am I holding and projecting to Nova Gaia, her elements and all fractals of all creation engaging and interacting with her NOW. White flame Source Energy Love and Light engulf any/all energy beings reading this message.

You just said it all!!! Debra just said it all. I want to print this and plaster it to my forehead…looking inward also! What word smiths!!! I aspire to be one and fall way short but I’m hopeful for meself! I recognize greatness!!!❤️

I love this answer, Thankyou for the reminder to focus on unconditional love. I’m going to bring it into my meditation practice.

  • Mary Ellyn says:

Well Debra, if I only learned one thing in your school, you taught me to go up 30,000 feet, sit in the observer chair and just observe. That’s what I’m doing. Half of the nonsense in the world has nothing to do with me. Most of the rest of it I have no control over. What I do have control over is how I react to what I’m observing. If I can look at my ‘neighbor’ and realize we are both made of the same God stuff, my heart opens and I feel peaceful. There’s a bigger plan and I’m not always privy to the workings of it. That’s ok. All I have to do is be the best version of myself, be the Light, bring Spirit into matter and the rest will handle itself. Love you…

Wow does this hit the mark 🎯: “It’s so strange that for all the intelligence of the human species we are not a race who thinks about the next generation, fully committing ourselves to providing a balanced, healthy world.”

I’ve watched some of your interviews and podcasts within the last year, and sometimes you’re the only spiritual teacher I can listen to all the way through. You carry such wisdom, sprinkled with a childlike playfulness — the perfect combo. Everything you say is easily digestible and alive! It is so refreshing how you lift the vibration wherever you go. You elevate all of us, Debra. Thank you for your profound insights, your compassion, and your care for our human condition. We need your leadership now more than ever.

  • Amber Durrell says:

We are an odd species for sure. I consider all of our shortcomings just a price to be paid for having such high intelligence. Peace is a very simple concept, and one we made up entirely, but the execution of it isn’t. It’s still an individual choice. What keeps my hope constantly regenerating is my Aries fire trine chi that knows if a fire doesn’t keep burning, the only other option is to go out and die. Lol. I’m also celebrating my Sagittarius son’s birthday this week (24th) and he is even more optimistic than I ❤️ He adores profanity too, but it’s never out of anger. Isn’t that funny? His positivity and solution seeking instead of complaining helps fuel my 🔥 every day.

  • Mark says:

Trust in yourself. You’ve known who you are from your beginning. We you started seeing with your eyes awareness began.and we asked who am I? I have gotten older and how have I changed? Has my nature? Is it my ego that sees previous lives? There have been times of hope and now times of worry. Personal freedoms are threatened. Humor works to deflect this absurdity. The wheel continues to spin. Love others and do good work.

  • Carina says:

A sunrise, the sound of life around me, appreciation for my senses they are all intact, my children and the potential they have for their future and my parental legacy. I’m a Capricorn with my feet planted on the ground -the material world, nature and what’s going on plays an important role but thankfully my full cancer moon ❤️ makes sure my heart and soul values my family and our safety which is crucial in this crazy world. I close my eyes, shed a tear if I have to, take a deep breath and carry on… hopeful for the future one day at a time -but ever cautious because you can’t let your guard down often, but preferably in the arms of someone you love.

  • Kathryn Willette says:

Thank you for asking! What keeps me hopeful are my dog, my granddaughter, my daughter, my son (but not so much right now!), my extended family (although this wasn’t always so), my having had a 40 year teaching career and a pension so I don’t have to rely on others when I get old (I just turned 70, and am recovering from a horrible cascade of chronic illnesses which robbed me out of my health, money, relationships, and my self-esteem, for 21 years), and now I’m recovering!! I feel optimistic, and happy despite having been scammed out of all my savings, stolen from, disrespected and basically abused when I was disabled and had terrible brain fog.
I am now SO thankful for nice people, the gorgeous and wondrous universe, happy feelings, a sense of accomplishment, more than enough to learn by the end of my days, and more!
I’m in a warm house, I took a bath (although now my shower head is broken, and I can’t reach it at 4’ 9”.), and put up my decorations, just for myself, maybe.
I’m in the process of manifesting my forever home. This one is too much for me to maintain and workers have been greedy and unreliable, to say the least.
I heard the words “Archangel Michael” this morning in a meditation. I’m not too familiar with him, but I’ll find out. I have been protected and have had miracles sent to me since I was too young to know what they were, but I always had a feeling of being connected to the stars and the universe, as I looked up every night as a teenager and meditated, but I didn’t know I was meditating. I’m hopeful for more healthy years and being able to travel (unfortunately, my adopted dog marks his territory in other people’s homes!)
Thank you for allowing me to comment!

  • Debbie Boudreau says:

I don’t ignore what chaos is happening but I have such faith in that things will turn around! Will we ever be able to be in complete harmony with each other and Mother Earth, that I cannot answer but it’s a dream worth dreaming. I am a Sagittarius and can be short tempered, pissed off and deeply sad but I still want to fan my flame so it can shine bright for myself and others. We all need to keep our inner flame glowing, especially in these trying times. I have adult children and a grandchild. I need things to get better for their future. Thank you for your honesty!

  • Priscilla says:

What makes me hopeful? Knowing that I am Love. I am light. Hoping my light shines so bright that those lost in darkness will see and find their way.

  • Lisa says:

Looking out my window every single morning and saying thank you to the beauty that surrounds me.
I do live in the wilderness on a big lake, but just a single tree can provide that inspiration out your window.
I keep reminding myself that we are in a simulation and I’m the one directing my thoughts, behaviors and actions.
It’s not easy day-to-day but in those moments, i can stop and take a breath.
As far as politics go, no one leader is actually in control if you choose to be sovereign
‘Some may call me a dreamer’🎶 because I’m a Pisces so I do live in a dreamy world, but it’s joy to not get caught up too much in the minds of others I’ve got enough going on in my own head…
