“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.” — Dalai Lama
What if I told you a Virgo secret: that if you could master one particular strand of energy, with awareness and with passion, that energetic shift could change EVERYTHING.
This quality of energy is so powerful, the Dalai Lama has made it into his religion. It is what makes a sky–like the one we are under this new moon– into applicable wisdom.
During a double Virgo Sun and Moon, it is a time when you realize all the things that are ‘wrong’. You enter the fall and suddenly realize: I don’t like my job. I don’t like my partner. I don’t like my body. And you can either do something direct about it, laced in kindness, or you can resent, demand and withdraw.
Every Virgo has this decision to make. Will I secretly harbor thoughts of negativity again and again–either internally, in my journal or in my head? Or will I adjust my attitude and be the change agent, the healer, the one who finds a solution to the dilemma that makes things better?
In the White House, it is only too easy–no matter what your philosophy is. We can judge and criticize and reject what is happening, or we can be kind.
I had a dream recently that I was mothering the President. I was just applying gentle kindness. I asked in the dream to the people around him: why do you dislike the democrats? Why can’t we just be kind to each other?
This is the religion of our most powerful Buddhist on this planet. He chose a Chinese man to be his autobiographer. He went over to the very person he should reject and resent and he chose him to practice kindness.
This New Moon’s prayer: show me kindness. Let me learn how to be sweet to those who need it most: the person who is harsh. This is a full-time job—not even slightly easy. But during this dark sky: ask yourself…
How can I be more kind to you?
