Moon in Capricorn, Sun in Cancer

The Full Moon is at 29 degrees Capricorn, and the Sun is at 29 degrees Cancer.

There are only 30 degrees to each sign. The Sun moves one degree per day as it goes through a sign. “Constant as the northern star,” said Joni Mitchell – this is how consistent the movement of the Sun is. I wish I was constant like that, but I am not – humans wish they were stars…but they are not. Ha!

On the other hand: the Moon follows in order – without the consistency. The Moon effect has us feeling moody, vulnerable, emotional. This polarity is the theme of this Full Moon. One sign says stability: Capricorn. And the other is highly emotional: Cancer. What a polarity – every Full Moon is.

I want to highlight the Cancerian conversation before this season ends. Cancer speaks to raw human nature.

  1. We are strange creatures that ALL come with a unique set of eyes – there is only one of you, and only you can fully relate to your point of view. Try as you will to see through another’s eyes, it’s your POV that will always return.
  2. Yet, we are universally the same – because we all come through a womb and we will each die someday – birth and death are givens; both elicit emotions (tears, joy, sadness). Try as you will, those feelings will never be stopped.
  3. He who stays in love the longest wins. Anyone who can find joy, laughter, comfort in the pain or pleasure coupled with the willingness to get up again and again – will win and happily end up at the finish line. Everyone has a finish line. Doesn’t matter the way your mind sees it: love is the goal of this life.
  4. Be careful of the stories you tell yourself. S/he who tells the story tells it best. Your world is all dependent on your eyes, and so we are back to #1: We are strange creatures that all come with a unique set of eyes and if we forget about love we have missed the plot.

We all arrive through pain, we seek love, we lose love, we get hurt, we hurt and then ideally says the Cancerian: we heal our repetitive stories. Or do we?

This is the conversation of this Full Moon: the sign Cancer invites us to seek healing every chance we get. This is the function of being alive – to evolve – to learn from the pain and the mistakes, and to continually seek love.

I was recently reflecting on who I was in my early life. I was so codependent, I was so scared I was not going to fulfill my purpose. I suffered from depression and feeling disconnected from spirit. None of that is true now. I have changed; I have grown up and learned so much.

I have always been extremely ambitious to grow no matter what challenges arrive. Hello, Full Moon in Capricorn. Go ahead and continually study this spiritual shit, the metaphysics, but then apply it, make a difference in our world. Learn and then teach. Make the money and then share it. Feel – but don’t get lost there, get back to work.

This month I had to pay a plumber a huge amount of money to fix a leak in my house that was hard (for two days, impossible) to find. Something about the solar panels and a broken pipe – the point was my Capricorn had to come in and do her thing. Get it done with the hiring of the right people.

Through my unique eyes (see #1 above), I recognized the leak as a symbol in my world: the water in my house running out of control. Truth be told, my Capricorn energy had cut me off from my ability to be authentic and feel…what with so much happening in my orbit. I held down the fort in my busy world at the expense of my humanness and my feelings.

During this Full Moon, I was humbled, brought to my knees. I had to cry, loud and hard. To let go after all the deaths that have arrived at my house – friends, neighbors, and even the break up of a relationship I did not see coming.

Ouch. This Full Moon is an invitation to say to oneself: honestly, I am not good at feeling my feelings. The lesson I discovered when the planet is at the very last degree (this Full Moon is at 29 degrees) is – don’t rush. We all learn the lessons the hard way. No one will get out of this movie without countless mistakes.

If I can remember that birth and death are the greatest events in this world… If I can remember to keep learning the hard way and to question my thoughts, the stories I tell myself… then I will keep learning.

I will get to the finish line proud of my effort! Why? Because I am in love with this life even when the Cancer month arrives and stretches my emotional capacity in so many ways. And the good news is that I’m in love with teaching you, writing to you, listening to you and learning from you.

I want to be like the Sun and the Moon – constantly trying to learn the lessons of the human condition, to be real, to share my pain and my joy. To be consistent, and then when I am not, to be real and cope with an open heart.

This is the condition of your enlightenment: to question your thoughts, the stories you tell yourself. To remember the way to win is to keep your heart open. To stay open, then close and open up again.

I will be writing my next newsletter. I will never stop giving. I hope you can say the same under the Full Moon in Capricorn that demands the best. It demands hard work with the remembrance you chose this life, you volunteered for this position and you promised to find the energy however you can – to keep going.

If you need some support during this emotional time (which so many are feeling) when the Moon elicits bigger feelings than usual, do not hesitate to ask one of our Certified Astrologers. They know how to look at your chart and help you find your way back home.

With love,

Debra

I would love support but the help these days is not set up for those who need it and can’t afford it. No one really wants to help. They just want to earn a buck…or several hundred. They click bait you with crumbs of info, then hit you with..for further information…send x amount of dollars . reminding you, yet again, that your life is pathetic and only those with money are deserving of help.

    Thanks for sharing your message
I am wondering if IC is always the same as the sun sign and the South Node? … Are all in Taurus in my chart?

I am learning much helpful information from the class which is helpful now since I am writing my memoir and looking at my childhood more deeply to help figure out how I became who I am (at a surprising 86 years)
Understanding my Scorpio as an adult makes sense.
Thank you and your team….great job

I was born with the Sun at 6 Cancer 24’7″ and the Moon at 23 Capricorn 4’22”. This. Full Moon combination feels especially powerful and I am facing tasks I should have (yes, I have the “shoulds”) completed a long time ago.

I live with the manra taken from one of my favorite movies, “Finding Nemo”. “Just keep swimming” said Dory! Well it seems to work wonders to elevate myself to do just that. We have been married for 53 years, so swimming comes second nature when times get a bit tense in our daily life! No one tells you the complexity of a daily dose of marital bliss, it is a fact you find in your own time.
In college I decided not to join a sorority, instead I became a mascot to a fraternity, under the guise I would have privilege to be my own monitor of what to do or not to. It paid off!!! The Fraternity I associated myself with was a sort of Animal House frat. One evening when asked to play a softball game and was up to bat, being coached by all present to swing when pitched the ball. Missing once, twice preparing for the third pitch a loud voice yelled SWING, due to a foul ball the next pitch the same voice echoed again, swing. Being told what to do by an unknown human I turned around yelling f__k off. with that the person directing my move turned to the guy next to him and asked, “who is that girl”, the reply came quickly, that’s Linda, you don’t know her?! So that was our first introduction of sorts. Later a week or two passed and this guy would appear in the cafeteria stopping at a table of sorority gals, he was their mascot. After schmoozing with the gals he came to the table I was seated at and proceeded to sit down introducing himself, the guy was to be my future husband. Now intrigued, we exchanged conversation at which point realizing the time, it was necessary to leave for work, telling him goodbye nice to have met you. Much to my surprise he offered to walk me to my car at which point I told him, my transportation are my long legs, it’s not far. He rose escorting me to work walking in the rain, upon arriving at work he asked for a date that weekend, my reply, already have one can you please ask again, I’d like that, as he turned to walk away I thanked him for the escort at which point he said goodbye, I have to go back to campus and get my car. We were married seven months later, still are!!!!!!!

This is me Cancer Sun and Cap Moon , so opposite I feel more in touch with my soul intuition right now , not without pain however , and certainly love , I had always felt unlovable, from childhood and a wounded mother , lots of secrets and lies around who my father was . I found out at 45 he was someone else than who I believed. It’s a long time of feeling pain and some beautiful times .

I have the sun in Cancer moon in Capricorn and am feeling a tremendous amount of unearthed emotions coming out to be healed . I had to ask myself the question … who or what am I carrying that has made me feel burdened ?
I have not been able to let go of some extra poundage no matter what I eat or how much I exercise .I am using this time to ask my higher self the question … what in my life can I let go of ?
    A very interesting time .
I’m sending you hugs during the transitions in your life too .
    With blessings ,
    Mindy
